Daily activities

Curriculum and environment follow the monthly themes

Literacy

Early literacy is promoted through various activities including recognizing printed names, teaching letters and their sounds, and focusing on a letter of the week. Children explore reading, storytelling, and writing throughout our day.

Science

Science based activities are integrated throughout our monthly themes. We explore through our natural curiosity, making predictions and observations, and conducting fun experiments!

Circle Time

Our daily classroom meeting time includes our leader of the day, attendance, calendar, and an opportunity for children to share their thoughts and ideas.

Music and Movement

Music is part of our daily curriculum where we sing, dance, and develop rhythm, rhyming, and coordination skills.

Math

Math skills are developed with hands-on experiences. Examples include counting, sorting, creating patterns, adding and subtracting; all of which is incorporated into our daily play and activities.

Social Emotional

Happy Time places a strong emphasis on social interaction, emotional growth and independence. Children learn how to engage with peers through expressive language, turn-taking, and imaginative play. We also focus on understanding emotions, empathy, and showing kindness to others.

Art

Art is a main component of our curriculum. Children use a variety of supplies to create their own individual artwork as well as projects that correlate with our monthly themes. This approach promotes child-led, process over product art!

Concepts

Through our play-based program, children learn shapes, colors, number recognition, letters, and letter sounds. In addition, we place a strong emphasis on fine and gross motor skills through our daily activities.
